Welcome to teddy

Here at teddy, our mission is to provide high-quality mattresses to Kiwi families WITHOUT the high-ticket price tag. We understand the struggles many Kiwi families face, where the demands of the cost of living can make it challenging to invest in good quality mattresses for the WHOLE family.

That's why we've leveraged four generations of expertise and connections and built a network that allows us to source the best raw materials at the best prices. And to make it even more cost-effective we have taken a different approach by adopting a direct to-consumer model allowing us to give EVERYONE in the family (no matter how big or small they are) the best possible sleep.

As parents of small children, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of your family. We know the importance of a good night's sleep, and that's why all our mattresses are not only comfy but also approved and certified against harmful chemicals.

We believe that every family deserves a safe and healthy sleep environment because we understand that deep, nourishing sleep isn't just about feeling good; it's about giving parents and kids the energy and clear thinking they need for work, chores, and school.

It's not just about mattresses. It's about making sure everyone can afford good sleep because together we're building a path to a brighter future for every Kiwi family in Aotearoa.

We are a young and innovative mattress company that combines cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship to deliver unparalleled comfort and support for a good night's sleep.

teddy was born out of an idea in 2021 and launched in March 2022 with a mission to revolutionize the way we sleep.

Although we are a young company (compared to our peers), our founder has over 20 years of personal experience in the mattress industry and comes from four generations of mattress making. This expertise, combined with our passion for innovation, has allowed us to create a unique and exceptional mattress that exceeds expectations.

At teddy, we believe that the foundation of a good day starts with a good night's sleep. That's why we have invested heavily in research and development to create a product that is not only comfortable but also improves the overall quality of sleep.

Our promise to sustainable dreamers

When we sleep, our deepest desires surface in the form of our wildest dreams of what tomorrow holds. Teddy mattresses are made for all dreamers – big and small. Those who also hope for a better tomorrow, by making more responsible choices today.

Each partner in the teddy supply chain will be ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) rated before 2025. All our materials are OEKO-TEX® 100 certified, and Eco-friendly REACH approved. We donate our time, services, and a percentage of our sales to Trees that Count in New Zealand to help reverse the tide. We know that our business activity – from sourcing timber to spring – creates pollution as a by-product. 

So, we work steadily to reduce those harms, using recycled plastic from the oceans, up-cycled steel and ethically-sourced timber.

While this may seem like a drop in the ocean, being sustainable starts with taking small steps towards a bigger picture.

We at teddy will continue to improve at every step of our process as we strive towards becoming New Zealand's most sustainable mattress company.
